Create The Nicest Broadway Themed Party NYC Residents Could Ask For

By Leanne Goff

Have an aspiring actor or theater enthusiast with a birthday coming up? Why not throw them the sort of Broadway themed party NYC is famed for? There are options for all budgets and the opportunities are endless. Whether it is a do it yourself shindig or a classy affair at a venue in the area, the idea is great and the execution is simple.

First, you should research the different productions that have been released and see if any of them touch upon subjects that you find interesting already. If it's something that somebody is interested in, odds are that there has been at least one dramatic show or musical written about it. The range of subject matter is actually quite huge and can be used in your favor. Who knows? You may even wind up being a fan of one or two of them.

There are many ways to cut down on cost when preparing for these parties that use economically friendly and crafty, to boot. The imagery of Broadway can be tracked for many decades and often was, itself, easy to make and reproduce. Instead of invitations, admission tickets can be sent with a "playbill" that gives the cast of characters.

Costuming is fairly easy to come across. Any thrift shop carries lots of second-hand, affordable clothing that can be used. Often, over the top and gaudy clothing that otherwise would never be worn can be used to accentuate certain aspects of the character.

Asking yourself questions, such as is it a professor in WWII, is vital. Why not try a tweed jacket, some spectacles and a bowtie. Found in a second-hand store, it could cost as little as ten dollars. Feel like going as a girl from the chorus line? Some cheap panty hose, costume jewelry and a used gown can be altered to make a unique and glamorous costume. Let your imagination run wild.

There is no shortage of Broadway music and is available in most music stores and all over the internet. You should let the music reflect the interests of the guests and can even incorporate dancing and games into the mix. Everyone will enjoy that.

Another thing to examine would be the benefits of dance lessons. Choreographing a small number to a show tune wouldn't be all that difficult. Entertaining the other guests can be fun and invigorating. If the idea of performing alone is too much to handle, gather a group of friends and see if they might be willing to join. Group activities can be much easier to take.

All in all, attending the kind of Broadway themed party NYC offers, shouldn't present much of a problem to anyone. With all of the various outlets at your disposal, it should be fun and exciting. Letting a lack of knowledge about the subject matter intimidate you is understandable but easy to overcome. Good luck and enjoy the show!
