The Performance Of Tyvek Coveralls

By Minnie Whitley

When you wake up every morning, you wake up everyday to a world that has a lot of demands. Basically, from the very moment you get up, you already start to work. But there are days that call for heavy cleaning or a project which will require you to put on a protective garment in order to protect yourself from being dirtied by dust and all other elements that will cling to you.

With this, the idea of wearing old clothes or just putting on plastic when working was thought of. This can work out for cleaning the house. However it could be quite a waste of clothes and plastic. With that, a working coverall was made. It is also used by individuals whose profession can soil the clothes. But they need a more practical one which is the Tyvek Coveralls.

Basically this suit is a one piece garment which is put above the the clothes you wear. Its main goal is to not get you contaminated by dirt and other chemical substances that can either harm you or get you dirty. It is also designed to be loosely fit on your body so as to enable free movement. But in choosing one, you should make sure it fits you since if it is too loose, it may cause you an accident.

Basically, it is termed as a coverall due to the fact that it covers the entire body. It actually looks like a jumper but has long sleeves and long pants that cover the wrists and the ankles. There are some styles which has a hood. But usually, they do not have and they are specifically designed to tolerate the harsh working activities.

There are actually several coverall types and different materials used for it, and one of them is Tyvek. It is actually a brand that is made from high density polyetheline fiber. It even is a registered trademark in DuPont and is a very strong material. But given that, it can be cut as easily as a paper but definitely cannot be torn easily by the hands.

Bearing a plastic like property it is also resistant from liquid that is why even you you get splashed with water or any liquid substances it will not penetrate to your clothing. An example of this is the raincoat. However, water vapor can penetrate through it. Also, it is a very light material so that even if you have it on, you do not feel its weight.

Not just that, it is also chemical resistant which makes it an ideal suit for occupations dealing with chemical elements. With this, accidents in the work place like skin corrosion due to harsh chemical compounds would be avoided. Aside from that, it has an impenetrability property against electromagnetic radiations and many other kinds of it.

With that, it can protect anyone dealing with harmful radiations from acquiring certain diseases. Also, it has a class A flammability rating. So even if the work deals with fire, it cannot catch it. This is actually the suit worn by firemen and construction workers. Though you can find some construction workers wearing a different coverall material. You call that garment a boilersuit.

But another good thing which you can benefit from using a Tyvek coverall is that you can save money. That is because you do not have to buy a new one and change it every now and then since it can withstand any pressure from work so it remains new. Basically, it is the uniform of firemen, painters, mechanics, engineers, and others who deal with substances that can dirty the clothes.
