Restaurants usually make hamburgers of uniform thickness and shape. Mostly, they are made round, but other restaurants make and sell square-shaped burgers. Preparation in restaurants usually involves grilling on flat-tops, but gas flame grilling can also be used to prepare. They are usually served well-done or medium-well for purposes of food safety.

Hamburgers are sold in several commercial establishments in Texas and worldwide. The annual sales of the burger often wrecks in millions of dollars for these companies.
