Pairing Solid Color Ties With The Right Shirt And Suit

By Dawn Williams

Your business suit could be perfectly made stylish with a quick change of shirt and tie. Solid color ties are capable of emphasizing your classy looks when matched with the right color of suit. A great business look will instantly be introduced when you combine colors properly. To come up with a great and exquisite business look, follow the guidelines discussed below.

Start by selecting the suit or suits that are appealing to you. Men's suits are normally bold colors. However, when inspected closely, there is usually a subtle pattern or texture. You should treat the suit as if it is solid when you are electing a shirt for it; unless the pattern on it is obvious. In case the suit is patterned, like check or plaid that is able to be recognized from a distance, then select a bold colored shirt.

After selecting a few shirts, place them beneath the suit lapel. Select either a patterned or solid colored shirt, if the suit is a patterned one. Additionally, unless the pattern of the suit is subtle, then you should always choose a strong colored shirt to pair it with.

A white, blue or yellow shirt goes well with a brown suit. Gray will always match perfectly well with every other shade. You can now proceed to select a few ties with patterns in order to pair them up with the shirt that you have selected for your suit.

The colors yellow, gold, burgundy and navy can all go well with a plain colored blue shirt. This shirt can also be matched with a variety of these colors' tones. Burgundy, blue as well as some shades of red will combine well with a pink colored shirt. Also, a tan or yellow shirt can be matched with blue shade and some brown shades.

The perfect suit should be selected after choosing a shirt with stripes. The tie chosen for a solid colored shirt should match it perfectly. On the other hand, a pattern that is striped will not blend well with it.

A shirt with fine stripes should be blended with a tie which has diagonally running stripes. Note that the shirt's stripes should be narrower than the ties. Reversely, a narrow striped tie can perfectly blend with a wide striped shirt.

Next in line is to find the dominant color for a patterned or checkered shirt after holding it far way. Try to match it with a tie by following the simple rules of pairing. However, it is important to avoid pairing a shirt with a tie that has the same pattern as the shirt.

A diagonally striped tie can go well with a checkered shirt, although the checks in the shirt should be smaller than the stripes. Depending on the shirt's pattern, a pattern of dots or blocks can be matched well with it. Solid color ties are very trendy and can be used to bring out that exquisite business look in a stylish way.
