The Cross Movie is a documentary that was released in 2009. Matthew Crouch directed the film in his debut as a director. Blessitt quickly began feeling that God was calling him to complete another journey, although this walk would involve a much longer route. Soon, he left Hollywood on Christmas Day in 1969 and walked as far as New York City and Washington DC carrying the cross.
The following year, Arthur carried his cross through then war-torn Northern Ireland. This was the trip that began what was soon to become a walk throughout the entire world. In 1988, he felt led by God to continue his journey until he had reached every country possible with the gospel. A decade later, he completed this mission, even gaining access to North Korea through a chain of extraordinary circumstances.
In July of 2008, the film mentioned above was finally completed. Blessitt's wife assisted Matthew Crouch, the film's director, due to the fact that she had traveled with her husband to more than two hundred and ninety of the countries he passed through during his journey. To this day, the excursion is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as "the world's longest walk."
