Attending An Elvis Tribute San Francisco

By Cornelia White

Finding an Elvis tribute San Francisco is not difficult. He is one of the most famous and well known performers of all time and although he is no longer performing live he lives on in the thousands of people who impersonate him and attempt to match his talent. Nearly forty years after his death, he still has as many fans and followers as he did as a young entertainer.

His success as a performer began in 1956 when he cut Heartbreak Hotel. That song rocketed to number one on the charts and led to several television appearances that helped to cement his future as a all round singer. He started the rock and roll era but could cross over to country-western, ballads, blues and spiritual songs at will. His ability to traverse the music field so thoroughly made him an icon of American entertainment.

He began making movies in 1956 and recording sound tracks for them. The movies were popular with his following and were profitable but they cannot be said to be Oscar material. After a stint in the Army he returned to recording and making movies. At that time he stopped doing live performances for nearly seven years. He returned to do tours in 1968 and was the first concert star globally broadcast by way of satellite. He died on August 16, 1977 and three days later a new release was marketed.

Today there are many people who have copied his style of dance, dress and speech. A few can imitate his singing voice when performing some of his hit songs. Very few of these people can cover the full spectrum of his talent.

You can book an appearance with an impersonator to entertain at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or any special event you like. Many entertainers do excellent impressions of the King and you should be pleased with their performance. Generally though, these private shows do not rise to the level of being called a tribute. You need to look to a much larger venue for that.

The city by the bay is the perfect spot to find conferences dedicated to the King. These conferences consist of thousands of impersonators and civilians coming together to sing his songs and pay homage to his greatness. The performers are known to hold impromptu shows on the streets or in a hotel lobby. An atmosphere of a party is prevalent but they all find time to find new ways to improve their performances and it is all open to the public.

In September 2013 the Giants base ball team sponsored a game dedicated to his memory with all proceeds going to charity. During the game and prior to it the audience was treated to performances by some of the best impersonators available. The first twenty thousand attendees were given bobble-head dolls and posters depicting the event. The game was a sell out and many fans came dressed as The King.

This Giant's game proved to be a great success and is the most current Elvis tribute San Francisco. Everyone was a winner on that September 2013 night. The Giants won the game, the fans were wowed by the entertainment, gifts and prizes and the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation received thousands of well deserved dollars.
